Teller School Field Trip Rules & Expectations

James C. Isabell School, Teller School, Parent/Guardian and community Newsletter, October 1st, 2025

Dear Families,
Thank you for your continued partnership in helping our students grow, achieve, and flourish! Here are some important reminders and updates to support your child at home:

Stay Connected to Learning
-Check PowerSchool regularly for grades and homework updates.
-Review your student’s backpack for items that should remain at home, such as toys, candy, or other distractions.

Safety & Communication
-Monitor your child’s phone and social media activity. Please report any concerning messages to the school so we can provide support.

Attendance Matters
-Good attendance starts with good routines! Encourage your student to get to bed early and be well-rested for school.
-Sports and extracurriculars are important—please help balance these with school attendance.

Homework Update
Some parents have asked about homework. In general, we do not assign a large amount of schoolwork to be done at home. Our focus is on quality learning during the school day.

Chromebook Usage
If your student’s Chromebook permission forms are not returned by Friday, October 3rd, their school computer access will be turned off until the forms are received.

We appreciate your support in building strong habits at home and at school. Together, we can help every student reach their goals and more!

🌙 Sleep Matters for Kids! 🌙
We are noticing a lot of students who are very tired and saying they are tired. Sleep is important for growth in height and in the mind.
Getting enough sleep is one of the most important parts of your child’s health and learning. When kids are well-rested, they:
✅ Focus better in class
✅ Have more energy for play and learning
✅ Handle emotions and behavior more calmly
✅ Stay healthier and stronger
Tips to Help Your Child Sleep Well:
Keep a consistent bedtime and wake-up time (even on weekends).

Create a calm routine before bed (reading, quiet time, dim lights).

Limit screen time at least 1 hour before bed.

Make the bedroom cool, dark, and comfortable.

Encourage daily physical activity.

A good night’s sleep = a great day of learning! 💤📚✨
